Ron DeSantis had a stormy night, even beating his Democratic opponent, Charlie Crist, in parts Republicans have failed to reach in the past.

Bookmakers say the Florida governor is the favorite to run against Mr. Trump for the party’s nomination and, if he chooses to run, he is well positioned until 2024.

It was also a very good night for Joe Biden.

If you look at historical precedent, a president who is underperforming in approval ratings, somewhere in his 40s, should lose a Republican majority in the House of at least 40.

Democrats may still lose the House, but only by a narrow margin.

They are likely to remain in the Senate after winning the pivotal swing state Pennsylvania to defeat Trump-backed candidate, celebrity TV doctor Mohammad Oz.
