Scranton Small Business Grant Awarded

Scranton, Lackawana County (WBRE/WYOU) — The city of Scranton on Tuesday announced more than $1.7 million in U.S. Rescue Program Act funding, a huge boost for Scranton businesses.

The announcement was made at Vincenzo’s Pizzeria and Catering in the city’s west end. The money is intended to help renovate storefronts and keep local entrepreneurs in Electric City. The folks at Vincenzo hope it boosts the community as a whole

“Great, that’s what we’ve been looking for, we’re hoping if we invest some of the money that other people will invest too, we’re really looking forward to the parking lot across the street being cleared, which is important to us,” Vincenzo’s Vincenzo Cicco, owner of Pizzeria and Catering, said.

The City of Scranton has a total of $68.7 million in US Rescue Program Act funding.
