The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce encourages parents and caregivers of children who show an interest in business to participate in their upcoming Junior CEO program.
Junior CEO students will learn business fundamentals while running a strawberry-themed dessert restaurant or sales business. At the end of the course, students will open their own dessert stand or other approved concept in Santa Maria Town Center.
The six-week digital business education program was originally developed by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce, but is currently licensed to Santa Maria, which will host the program locally.
Focusing on students who are able to communicate in sixth grade, the programme will cover six categories;
- business foundation
- cost model
- Safety and Food Preparation
- Marketing and Customer Service
- money management
- future plan
All meetings and office hours will be conducted via Zoom and will feature local business leaders as guest speakers. To learn more and to register for events, visit the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce website at http://santamaria.com/junior-ceo.
The course fee is $25 per student and registration is required. Classes begin in September. 26, so please register as soon as possible to reserve your spot.
