New technology revolution enters First Energy Stadium

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – New season, new logo and new technology for fans inside First Energy Stadium.

Rob McBurnett, director of community and corporate communications for the Cleveland Browns, said new changes start the first time you walk in.

“The gate at Southgate this year is going to be a different experience, and first we want to encourage everyone to use the Bronster Fast Track using facial authentication,” McBurnett said.

He said the new technology at the entrance could help fans get to their seats faster without even using their phones.

Here’s how it works, instead of scanning every ticket, you walk up to a tablet that instantly recognizes your face. One person can register multiple tickets.

Plus, getting through security is now a breeze without taking anything out of your pocket.

“You just have to understand the technology and it can identify anything that could be a threat,” McBurnett said.

You may notice several Cleveland Cold One stations around the stadium.

Jessica Jacobson says you can order on your phone to skip the wait

“Just show your ID where you bought the beer, water or soda, you’ll get the goodies, and you’re good to go,” Jacobson said.

She said they also added fast lane for these foods…you can check out without scanning

“You’re literally taking some icy drinks out of the cooler, going through them right on the unit, and it’ll read those right away, call them, put their credit card in, and you’re there,” Jacobson said Just go back to your seat.”

More fun, more comfort, less things to worry about, and hopefully the Browns will have a big win against the Jets.
