Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx is recovering after experiencing “medical complications,” his family say.
FoxCinemas, known for films such as Django Unchained, Collateral and Ray, have been treated with “extreme care” following unspecified incidents on Tuesday.
Writing on Instagram, his daughter Colleen Fox said the family thanked fans for their support and asked for privacy.
“We want to let you know that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had complications yesterday,” she wrote.
“Fortunately, thanks to quick action and good care, he is already on the road to recovery.
“We know how much he is loved and thank you for your prayers. Family asks for privacy during this time. Much love, Fox family.”
Ms Foxx did not disclose any further details of what happened.
Representatives for the actor have been contacted for comment.
Fox won an Oscar for his portrayal of blind American singer Ray Charles in the 2004 film Ray.
