Flo Rida’s 6-year-old son in intensive care after falling from 5th-floor window, boy’s mother says | The Art News

The 6-year-old son of American rapper Flo Rida is in intensive care after falling from a fifth-floor apartment window, according to legal documents filed by the boy’s mother.

Zohad Dillard fell from a window onto hard concrete on March 4, according to a lawsuit filed in New Jersey Superior Court by his mother, Alexis Adams.

Ms Adams is suing her landlord, saying the accident happened after multiple complaints about faulty window guards.

The suit says Zohar “suffered serious and permanent injuries” that would affect his ability to perform “day-to-day functions” in the future.

His serious injuries included multiple pelvic fractures, a fractured left metatarsal, a third-degree liver laceration, internal bleeding and a collapsed lung.

Ms Adams’ lawyer, Steven P Haddad, said Zohar remained in hospital with a full body cast and it was unclear when he would be able to return home.

In a statement shared with New Jersey local outlet News 12, Adams said it was devastating to watch her son go through this avoidable “pain and trauma.”

She continued: “As a single mum with a child with special needs, this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken in a million pieces.

“I am devastated, angry and struggling as my only son was seriously injured due to the willful negligence of our landlord and others who failed to take necessary safety measures.”

Zohar suffers from hydrocephalus, a neurological disorder caused by excess fluid buildup in the brain.

Adams said she made repeated requests to her landlord to install adequate window protection for her Jersey City apartment.

One of the defendants named in her lawsuit, Pitch Perfect 74 LLC, has no contact information listed on public records, NBC News reported.

Goldberg Management, a real estate firm also named in the lawsuit, did not immediately respond to NBC’s request for comment.
