Elon Musk tweeted a link to unfounded rumors about Nancy Pelosi’s husband being attacked — just days after he bought the platform Later, it sparked fears that the platform would no longer seek to limit misinformation and hate speech.
The tweet, which he later deleted, was linked to an article by the Santa Monica Observer, which previously said Hillary Clinton died on September 11 and was replaced by a double.
In this case, the article repeats the baseless claim that the personal life of Paul Pelosi, the husband of the Speaker of the House, is somehow in intruder attack at the couple’s San Francisco home.

She criticized Republicans for spreading “hateful and insane conspiracy theories” and said: “The violence turned out to be shocking, but not surprising.”
In response, Musk posted a link to the Verge site, adding: “There may be more to this story than it appears.”

San Francisco police said the suspect in last week’s attack, identified as 42-year-old David DePape, broke into Pelosi’s Pacific Heights home early Friday and confronted Mr. Pelosi. Ask to know “Where is Nancy?”
The two men struggled with a hammer before officers who received a 911 call saw DePape attack Mr. Pelosi at least once, police said.
DePape was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, elder abuse and burglary. Prosecutors plan to file charges on Monday and are expected to arraign him on Tuesday.

Police said the attack was “intentional” and not random, but did not publicly say what they believed to be a motive.
The exchange between Musk and Mrs Clinton comes a day after Twitter’s head of security and integrity, Yoel Roth, said the company’s policies against “defamatory” and “hateful conduct” remain in place.
Shortly after Musk took control of Twitter, some accounts on the platform began tweeting anything from racist slurs to political misinformation, such as “Trump wins,” to see what’s going to be tolerated.

Musk said Friday that he would form a “content review board” and promised advertisers that the site wouldn’t become a “free hellscape for everyone.”
Although he describes himself as a “free speech absolutist”.
However, at least one major advertiser, General Motors, said it would suspend advertising on Twitter while monitoring the direction of the platform under Musk.
