Catholic Health extends visitation hours at its hospitals

Beginning Monday, visitation hours at Buffalo Regional Catholic Health Hospital will be extended.

Patients at Buffalo Mercy Kenmore Mercy Hospital in Mount St. Louis may have up to two visitors daily from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm. Lewiston and Main Street and St. Mary’s Hospital. Mercy’s sister hospital’s Joseph campus, Catholic Health spokeswoman Joann Kavanaugh said in a news release.

Patients can have up to two visitors at a time, she noted. Access will continue to be permitted before or after business hours under certain conditions.

Maternity units at Mercy, Sisters and Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, the visitation policy has also been expanded.

Expectant mothers may have two designated support staff and a doula or midwife during delivery and throughout the hospital stay.

In Sisters and Mercy Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the mother and a support staff can visit at any time. Additional visitors accompanied by mothers or support staff may be permitted with the permission of clinical staff.

Patients in the emergency department or planning surgery can continue to have a support staff, with limitations.

Visits to patients who are Covid-19 positive or take Covid precautions remain limited. Virtual visits are still available. Visitors who have been exposed to Covid-19 or have symptoms of Covid or other contagious diseases will continue to be restricted.
