Buffalo, N.Y. — A blue pumpkin sale Saturday gave people a chance to support the Buffalo Police K-9 unit.
Organizers said it was all in memory of fallen officer Craig Reiner who worked in the K-9 unit.
The annual event raises training materials, equipment and safety vests for dogs with a lot of work to do.
“The K-9 is a huge advantage for the police department,” said organizer Scott Milligan. “They can do things like personal protection, sniff out drugs and bombs, find a hider from the police, so the K-9 is a huge advantage for the department.”
During Saturday’s fundraiser, people had a chance to see K-9 in person and see what kind of change they can make.
